WORLD NEWS: Did Charlie Kirk Ever Join the Military? What You Should Know brought to you by Infomist daily updates

Murder of conservative activist and social media personality Charlie Kirk has shocked the United States, with individuals discussing his life and work.

The 31-year-old was allegedly killed by Tyler Robinson on September 10 while having a campus interaction in Utah.

He was shot at 12:20 pm local time while part of a Q&A session among students at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, according to a university statement.

Military Background Misconceptions

There has been a question as to whether or not Kirk served in the military. He did not. In a 2015 speech at the Liberty Forum of Silicon Valley, Kirk described that he had requested to be nominated to the United States Military Academy at West Point and was turned down.

He claimed his position was given to a considerably less-qualified candidate of a different gender and a different persuasion,” and continued that his denial was not intellectual, according to the Independent. Kirk further explained that he was being sarcastic regarding the “less-qualified candidate.”

Political Activism and Turning Point USA

Political activism by Kirk followed after he met Tea Party candidate Bill Montgomery, who encouraged him to start doing activism. They both started Turning Point USA (TPUSA), а поп-profit organization for conservative politics in schools and campuses all over the United States.

Response by TPUSA

TPUSA thanked the supporters on X after Kirk’s death with the following statement: “We are so grateful for the demonstration of love and concern for our organization and the Kirk family during this very difficult time.

We particularly appreciate those who have contacted us to inform us of what they can do to assist.” There were also links included so that others could ‘support, give, and get involved’.

Charlie Kirk was a vocal individual who is most famously recognized for his activism as well as his involvement in the conservative world, but his early demise left a lasting impact on his followers as well as on the political world at large.
