PM Modi in Jammu LIVE Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Jammu on Tuesday (February 20), where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects, including for education, railway, aviation and road sectors, worth Rs 30,500 crore.

He also distributed appointment letters to about 1,500 newly recruited government employees of Jammu and Kashmir and interacted with beneficiaries of various schemes as part of the ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu’ programme. PM Modi also addressed a public rally at Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu, for which a multi-tier security setup has been put in place.

Traffic advisories have been issued, while the border and highway grids were further strengthened with the officers asked to intensify patrolling and checking of vehicles to keep subversive elements at bay. Responding to intelligence reports highlighting potential security threats, a high alert had also been sounded along the borders and an order was issued under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code in the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, the weather in Jammu is expected to be wet, with the Meteorological Department predicting rain till tomorrow.
