Farmers of the Meghalaya can now take better care for their crops as Meghalaya CM on Thursday launched 4 Web & Mobile Apps for the advantage of Farmers , which are CROPSAP, Horticulture Hub MIS, Meghalaya State Agricultural Marketing Board (MEGAMB) and Meghalaya Farmer App.

• CROPSAP- A Web Application for processing & analysis of surveillance data & advisory generation for crops infected with pests.
• Horticulture Hub MIS- an MIS app for managing daily activities like sale, local farmer training, generating sales receipts & reports which will also help in managing availability of stocks’
He further stated, ‘• Meghalaya State Agricultural Marketing Board (MEGAMB)- a one stop portal for agricultural marketing information
• Meghalaya Farmer App- a single point mobile app for farmers to access all relevant information related to farming.’
Sangma also hold reviewed IT and Communication Department, discussed the state of the Shillong Technology Park’s Phase 2 development project, institutional frameworks in the telecom industry, and renovation of the Meghalaya State Data Centre.
Taking on twitter he also announced ,’ Flagged off 20 PRIME Agriculture Response Vehicle at Upper Shillong which are part of the 200 lot of ARVs to be released in the State.
The access to vehicles on subsidised rates to farmers & farmers’ groups at each C&RD Block is a big relief for them, aimed at lowering the transportation cost for their agricultural produce.’
On the other hand, in April, an artificial intelligence (AI) – based website and a mobile app has been created for identification of pests, diseases and nutrient deficiencies in cashew crop was released.
According to a report, the mobile software will be of enormous assistance to farmers, and over time it will enable instantaneous diagnosis of roughly 60 cashew pests, 20 illnesses, and 10 nutrient deficits from uploaded photographs.
