In a shocking turn of events early Thursday morning, Saif Ali Khan was attacked during an alleged burglary attempt at his Mumbai residence.
The incident occurred at around 2:30 am at Saif’s 12th-floor apartment in the Satguru Sharan building, Bandra. Reports reveal that Saif sustained six injuries, including two deep wounds, two intermediate ones, and two minor injuries. One of the more serious injuries, near his spine, required immediate attention from a neurosurgeon. Following the attack, Kareena Kapoor Khan addressed the media frenzy by releasing a heartfelt statement on social media.
In her Instagram post, she wrote, “It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from the relentless speculation and coverage.”
She continued, “While we appreciate the concern and support, the constant scrutiny and attention are not only overwhelming but also pose a significant risk to our safety. I kindly request that you respect our boundaries and give us the space we need to heal and cope as a family.”
Concluding her message, she added, “I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation during this sensitive time – Kareena Kapoor Khan.”
Meanwhile, Saif’s team issued an official update regarding his health. Their statement read, “Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery, and the doctors are closely monitoring his progress. All family members are safe, and the police are investigating the incident. We would like to thank Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr. Leena Jain, and the team at Lilavati Hospital. Thank you to all his fans and well-wishers for their prayers and thoughts during this time.”
Saif’s children, Ibrahim Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan, were seen arriving at Lilavati Hospital on Thursday morning to check on their father’s recovery. Director Siddharth Anand also visited the actor, while visuals of Shah Rukh Khan heading to the hospital to visit his Kal Ho Naa Ho co-star circulated on social media, further highlighting the industry’s concern.
The attempted robbery at Saif and Kareena’s residence has left the film fraternity in shock. According to Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Chief Operating Officer of Lilavati Hospital, Saif was brought in at 3:30 am with six stab wounds, two of which were severe. The injury near his spine was particularly concerning and required urgent surgical intervention.
Earlier in the day, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team issued an additional statement, confirming the incident. It read, “There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s residence last night. Saif sustained an injury to his arm and is currently in the hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is safe.
